Welcome to the Tyne Valley self-help group page.
We are delighted to confirm that the latest Northumbria Basketry Group self-help group will be starting in June.
The group sessions will be held on two consecutive days, from 10:30 to 15:30. Tuition is extra, by arrangement. NBG membership at £10 a year is recommended.
The dates for meetings this year are:
12/13 June
11/12 September
11/12 December
Please confirm attendance at least a week in advance to ensure enough willow is prepared and that there is space.
The group works without a tutor & everyone is encouraged to help one another and share skills. Anyone new to basketry will gain more from the group sessions if they have attended a beginner's workshop.
There are essential tools to borrow initially, and then it is advised to purchase some.
Tea & coffee are provided, please bring your own snacks & lunch.
