Chester Hope Willow Plot Update

All of the willow at Chester Hope has now been cut. The image shows Barbara Harrington watching Jane Cheadle and Lynda Bull cutting the last of the Brittany Green rods. The Endurance willow in the shelter belt has also been harvested.

Further work at the plot includes re-planting two areas with basketry willow, trimming stools and removing the debris from the woven mulch.

We shall also be planting willow and dogwood with colourful stem colours and creating willow spiling at the Chester Hope Burn flood prevention site opposite the cottages at Ryehill.

Sales of basketry willow continue at a brisk pace. Stocks of bundles in all sizes save for 4-foot are available.
