We enjoyed the picnic at the Willow plot yesterday.
With guidance from Charlotte, we stripped willow rods for white and enjoyed a session with Lorraine, who tutored us on the Neolithic weave and did some essential plot maintenance. It was a busy afternoon!
Having done some tests stripping various varieties growing at the plot, we stripped rods from the following, Flanders Red, Bleu Bleu, Green Dicks, Packing Twine, Dark Dicks, and Dicky Meadows.
Although a little cool at times, the weather was favourable and dry. Fortunately, the vibrant willow growth provides shelter from the prevailing wind.
Thank you to Nicki and Luisa for the images.
