With over 30 years of experience in woodworking, Daniel Sams is passionate about using locally and ethically sourced materials to create beautiful, functional baskets inspired by traditional American Ash Pack Baskets.
What You’ll Learn:
- The art of Ash splint basketry, an age-old technique from North America
- How to prepare and weave with UK-grown Ash splints (Fraxinus Excelsior)
- Skills to create your own durable, eco-friendly basket
Ash basketry is a fantastic way to connect with nature, reduce plastic use, and learn a heritage craft that has been used for centuries. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is an opportunity to develop hands-on skills in a peaceful countryside setting.
Lunch will be provided on both days, cooked over a fire pit.
Camping is available at Broomley Grange at an additional £12 per person per night.
