Northumbria Basketry Group members were joined by Peregrini Trust volunteers on Saturday 14th January to complete the cutting of the willow at the Whitton plot. A bright cold day the combined group set about cutting the remaining rods at Whitton with enthusiasm and were soon warmed up as a result. A soup and sandwich lunch was enjoyed at the golf club where we had an oportunity to chat about the history of our group and the aims of the Peregrini Trust. On the 21st of this month Anna will be leading a group at a venue on Holy Island making sculptures for the Island Nature Trail. There will also be an opportunity to make simple baskets.
