Celtic Knot Baskets - Hepple Self Help Group

The focus of the September 2010 self help group meeting at Hepple was on making Celtic Knot baskets. Starting with laying out six sets of six 7 foot long rods the sequence of weaving the basket is shown in the attached images. To make the weaving easier two types of rods were used, brown and buff. At first the tips are pulled through the weaving and butts are pulled through at the end. The sequence for weaving the second round of weaving is as follows:
1. Over 1 and under 1.
2. Over 1 and under 2.
3. Over 1 and under 3.
4. Over 1 and under 3.
5. Over 2 and under 3
6. Over 3 and under 3.
