description

The Mediterranean is home to a beautiful and distinctive technique of weaving used by fishermen to make a variety of fishing baskets and traps, the technique combines spiralling elements with stakes forming an open triangular structure.

In this workshop with tutor Monica Guilera you will learn to make a 'cofe', a round basket that was used to place the fishing line and hooks in preparation for line fishing.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of basketry ability.
