description

You are invited by Anne Otley, of Lucker and Bamburgh Willow Weavers and tutor Anna Turnbull of Biteabout Arts to a quiet Autumn weekend of willow weaving on Holy Island, off the Northumbrian coast, where for centuries people have come to retreat from their busy lifestyles and enjoy the remoteness, peace and tranquillity found in this beautiful place.

Our workshop will be in the St Cuthbert’s Centre. Anna is going to teach us how to make a round basket from a square frame. Further ideas can be found in Jenny Crisp's new book - 'Willow' a guide to growing and harvesting, plus 20 beautiful projects.

We will be staying at Marygate house, a Christian retreat centre which provides accommodation in three bedded shared rooms and will provide all our meals. The House is run on donations at the suggested price of about £110 each and we are asked to make individual donations before we leave.

If you would like to join us, the cost of the workshop will be £125 and this amount should be sent to Anne as soon as possible to secure a place. Materials including frames and leather straps if needed will be available at additional cost from Anna.

Cheques (made payable to Anne Otley), should be sent to Anne ASAP, who can be contacted for further information at:- Lucker House, Lucker, Belford, Northumberland NE70 7JG Telephone: 01668 219118 e-mail anneotley@yahoo.com

Please contact Anne if you would like to pay by BACS.
