Come to the St Thomas' Centre, Wolsingham, and weave your first basket, or develop your basketry skills, with an experienced tutor from the Northumbria Basketry Group.

On this two day course you will discover the techniques used in traditional basketry and complete your own round basket to take home. You will learn about the tools and materials used and be given full step-by-step instruction from Jo-Anne Bolton of Abundant Earth, an experienced basketmaker and tutor of many years' standing. You will be weaving with locally- grown willow from Abundant Earth's own willow beds near Durham.

A maximum of eight places at this workshop ensures a high level of individual support which will enable you to produce a basket that you will be really pleased with.

The workshop is suitable both for complete beginners and for anyone wanting to develop their basketry skills further following attendance at a previous course.

The fee of £120 is payable on booking (includes all materials, use of tools, and tea, coffee, and biscuits)
